Bright lilac pink (H11) flowers, Aug-Oct, with dark green foliage. Very showy but apt to have an open habit. A seedling found by Mrs Gwendolen Anley before 1960 and named after her husband, Brig. B. Gun-metal coloured buds opening to lilac pink (H11) multi-bracteate flowers, Oct-Dec, with dark green foliage turning bronze in winter. Found by Dr. I.T. Visser, Wageningen Netherlands, in 1971 as a seedling collected near Arnhem, Netherlands and named after the famous battle. Ht. 61-75cm. Spd. 61-75cm.
Mauve flowers, Aug-Sep, with gold foliage tinted orange in summer and turning bright red in winter. Upright bushy habit. Seedling; raised and introduced by R. M. Steele (Rose Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada) in 1993 and named after a town in Nova Scotia. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

A bud-bloomer with wine red (H14) buds, Sep-Dec, with dark green foliage. It has a habit like 'Marlies' from which it was a sport. It was raised by Jürgen Krebs (Hoyerhagen, Germany) and recorded in Botanischer Garten, Bremen, Germany, in 1998. It is an unacceptable name as it is in Latin. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.
Amethyst (H1) flowers, Aug-Sep, with gold foliage in summer turning bronze in winter. Broad upright habit. Found on Bennachie, a mountain west of Inverurie, Scotland, by James Mackay Blairdaff, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland before 1995. Ht. 15cm. Spd. 20cm.
Mauve flowers, Aug, with mid-green foliage. Semi-prostrate twiggy growth. Another found by James Mackay on the same day as 'Bennachie Bronze'. Ht. 5cm. Spd. 30cm.

Found in Scotland by Betty Baum, Aviemore, Inverness-shire, Scotland, a worker at Jack Drake's nursery. Introduced by Jack Drake, Inshriach Nursery, Aviemore by 1966 but the cultivar was available in Belgium in 1963! Ht. 46-60cm. Spd. 75-100cm.
Dark lilac flowers, Aug-Sep, with golden-yellow foliage copper-red in winter. Sport found by Hermann Westermann, Lüneberger Heide, Germany in 1994. Named after the town where the nursery is situated. Similar to 'Cuprea'. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

Perhaps the slowest and most tiny Calluna making a very tight clump of dark green. It has yet to flower! It was found as a sport on Calluna vulgaris 'Findling', another 'pin-cushion' at Barneveld, Netherlands in 1988. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 16-20cm.
