It was a seedling on the moors beside Broadstone Golf Links, Dorset, England, which was collected by C.D. Eason of Maxwell & Beale, once a famous heather nursery. Progeny:'Plantarium'. Ht. 16-20cm. Long stems of clear amethyst (H1) flowers, Aug-Sept, with dark green foliage. Erect habit. Sport on 'Ralph Purnell' found by H. A. Verheul and named after the town in the Netherlands where it originated. Ht. 46-60cm. Spd. 46-60cm.
