Deep crimson (H13) flowers Aug-Sep. with very dark green foliage. Broad spreading, upright habit. A very hardy seedling, raised by Brita Johansson (it survived the disastrous winter in Sweden in 1995-1996). Gaia was the Greek earth goddess and first mother of all the Greek gods. Ht. 26-30cm. 'Galaxy'

White budbloomer Aug-Sep. with yellow gold foliage. Tidy compact, upright habit. Better than most other gold foliaged white budbloomers. Canadian origin.


'Gerda'

Sparse mauve (H2) flowers, Aug-Sep, with bronze gold foliage in summer, deepening to salmon red in winter becoming pale green in spring with red-brown new growth. Prostrate habit. Named after the finder's wife. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Ginkel's Glorie'Photo!

Lilac pink (H11) buds of f. diplocalyx, Aug-Nov, which fail to open on dark green foliage. Found on Ginkelse Heide, Netherlands. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Glasa'

Dense racemes of white flowers, Aug-Sep, with silver grey foliage. It has a more upright habit and suffers less winter damage than 'Beoley Silver' from which it was a sport. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

Multibracteate magenta (H14) "flowers", Sep-Nov, with dark green foliage. It has a broad erect habit. A seedling between 'Battle of Arnhem' and 'Allegro'.  Ht. 30cm. Spd. 40cm.

'Glenmorangie'

Few pale lavender (H3) flowers, Aug-Sep, with deep orange foliage in summer deepening to red in winter. As a young plant it grows in a swirl-like pattern developing into a dwarf compact habit. Found in Glen Sligachan, Isle of Skye, Scotland in 1962. Named after a malt whisky. Ht. < 10cm. Spd. 16-20cm.


'Gloucester Boy'

Very long spikes of pale amethyst (pale H1) flowers shading to pink (H8) at the base, Aug-Sep, on dark green foliage tipped magenta in autumn. Vigorous upright habit. A sport from 'Robert Chapman' found by Lindsay Campbell, Argyll, Scotland. Gloucester Boy was the name of Lindsay Campbell's pet rat that had just died. Ht. 46-60cm. Spd. 75-100cm.


'Gnome Pink'

Mauve (H2) flowers, Sep-Oct, with dark green foliage. Compact upright habit. Sport from 'Gnome' and may revert to it. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Goldcarmen'

Lilac pink (H11) flowers, Aug-Sep, with gold foliage deepening in winter. Its habit is very like 'Carmen' from which it was a sport. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

Violet flowers, Aug-Sep, with gold foliage tipped pink in Spring. Compact habit. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 31-45cm.

'Golden Rivulet'

Mauve (H2) flowers, Aug-Sep, with yellow/gold foliage in summer turning orange in winter. Completely prostrate when young then develops a semi-prostrate habit similar to 'Golden Feather'. It does not suffer as much from scorch as other orange foliage callunas. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 26-30cm.

A diminutive pin cushion plant with yellow green foliage. Very scarce mauve flowers. A seedling collected at Grönsinka, Dalarna, Sweden and first introduced in Sweden. Very hardy. Ht. < 10cm. Spd. 10-15cm.

White flowers, Sep-Oct, with yellow foliage throughout year somewhat lighter than 'Beoley Gold'. Vigorous. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.

Double, pink (H8) flowers shading to deep pink (H8) near pedicel, Sept-Nov, with dark greyish foliage; open, spreading habit. Unusually clear flower colour; some flowers shaded salmon; blooms very early.
