'Ide's Double'

Double heliotrope (H12) flowers, Jul-Sep, with dark green foliage. Open habit. Very similar to 'Tib' but was found as a seedling by R.A. Ide of Camberley, Surrey, England. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'Inchcolm'

Pink (H8) flowers, Aug-Sep, on downy yellow/green foliage with salmon tints in spring. Dainty, erect habit. Named after an island in the Firth of Forth, Scotland. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Inchkeith'

White flowers, Aug-Sep, with bright yellow green foliage and a open erect habit. Named after an island in the Firth of Forth, Scotland. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'Indian Maid'

Lavender flowers, Aug-Sept, with grey-green foliage. Upright vigorous habit habit. 


'Indian Summer'

Bright lavender flowers, Sept-Oct, with mid-green foliage. Low spreading habit. 


'Indian Thick Rug'

Lavender flowers, July-Aug, with mid-green foliage. Low spreading habit. Introduced by R. M. Steele (Rose Bay, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada) before 1993. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 26-30cm.


'Ineke'

Light mauve (H2) flowers, Aug-Sep, with distinctive feathery pale yellow foliage in summer, bronze/green in winter. Named after the finder's sister. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'Inge'

Deep lavender (H3) flowers, Aug-Sep, with dark grey foliage. It has the stiff erect habit of 'Silver Knight' from which it was a sport. It differs from the other dark flowered grey sport from 'Silver Knight', 'Grizabella', in having much darker grey foliage. It was found at the Hamburg Botanic Garden, Germany and named after the wife of the finder. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'Ingrid Bouter'

Double heliotrope (H12) flowers, Aug-Sep, with mid-green foliage. A sport from 'Tib', to which it readily reverts, but the flower colour is slightly more red. Named after the raiser's daughter. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Inshriach Bronze'

Lavender (H3) flowers, Jul-Aug, with acid yellow foliage in spring, rich gold in summer, bronze in winter. Recommended. Named after Jack Drake's nursery near Aviemore, Scotland. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Iris van Leyen'

Few pale mauve (H2) flowers, Aug-Sep, with bright yellow foliage turning bronze in winter and spring. Broad, spreading habit. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Islay Mist'

Short racemes of white flowers, Jul-Aug, with dark green foliage. Spreading habit. Named after a blended whisky. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 26-30cm.


'Isle of Hirta'

Lavender (H3) flowers in August, with yellow green foliage in winter turning to golden yellow in summer with red at the base of the leaves. Attractive plant but very slow growing. K43 of the St. Kilda collection and was found on the island of Hirta. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 26-30cm.


'Isobel Frye'

Pink (H8) flowers, Aug-Sep, with yellow/green foliage overlaid with greyed orange darkening to red/orange in winter. Spreads reasonably rapidly giving good ground cover. Named after the finder's wife. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 21-25cm.


'Isobel Hughes'

Abundant double white flowers, Aug-Oct, with bright green foliage. Upright growth being slightly taller than the double whites. Named after the finder. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 31-45cm.
