'Claire Elise'

Short racemes of magenta pink (H1/H12) flowers, Jul-Oct, with dark green foliage. Compact habit.  A deliberate cross between Erica tetralix ' Con Underwood' and Erica ciliaris ' Corfe Castle' by Dr John Griffiths and named after his daughter. Ht. 15cm. Spd. 40cm.

Deep pink (H1/H8) flowers, Jul-Oct, on greyish green foliage which has red tips in spring, turning golden later. Glandular hairs on leaves. Found on the heaths near Wareham, Dorset, England by D.F. Maxwell. Named after a niece of H. E. Beale. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Dorothy Metheny'

Pale lilac flowers deepening with age, Jun-Oct, with eglandular bright green foliage tipped yellow in spring. Named after a past vice-President of the Heather Society. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Dorset Beauty'

Pale lilac pink (H11) flowers, Jul-Oct, with mid-green foliage. One of the most floriferous of the group. Ht. 16-20cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'F. White'

White flowers, tipped shell pink (H16), Jul-Oct, with mid-green foliage. Found on Wych Heath, Wareham, Dorset, England by F. White then of Maxwell & Beale. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'Gwen'

Pink (H8) flowers fading to white at the base of the corolla, Jul-Oct, with dark green foliage tipped red in spring. Open spreading habit. Found near Wareham, Dorset, England by D. F. Maxwell and named after a niece of H. E. Beale. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'H. Maxwell'

Mauve (H2) flowers, Jul-Nov, on mid-green eglandular foliage with the young shoots in spring being orange/bronze turning yellow later. Yet another seedling collected near Wareham, Dorset, this time named after the finder's father. Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Mary'

Purple (H10) flowers, Jun-Nov, with deep green eglandular foliage tipped yellow in spring. Broad erect habit. Named after Mrs. Mary Flecken, the wife of the finder. The first E. x watsonii to be found in France. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Morning Mist'

Flowers open white, turning lilac with pink tips, Jul-Oct, with mid-grey green foliage. Better grower than 'F. White' with a compact spreading habit.. Found on Hartland Moor, Dorset, England Ht. 26-30cm. Spd. 46-60cm.


'Pearly Pink'

Clear pink flowers of similar colour to 'Pink Pacific', Jun-Oct, with green-grey foliage tipped a striking orange-red in spring. More compact habit than 'Pink Pacific'¹. A deliberate cross between Erica tetralix 'Hookstone Pink' and Erica ciliaris Corfe Castle' by David Wilson, British Columbia, Canada. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 21-25cm.


'Pink Pacific'

Salmon pink buds opening to clear rose pink flowers, Jun-Oct, with green/grey foliage tipped a striking orange/red in spring. Spreading habit. A deliberate cross between Erica tetralix 'Hookstone Pink' and Erica ciliaris ' Corfe Castle' by David Wilson, British Columbia, Canada. Spreading habit. Recommended. Ht. 21-25cm. Spd. 31-45cm.


'Rachel'

Lilac pink (H11) flowers, Jul-Oct, with dark green eglandular foliage. Forms a large dome in time. Another find by D.F. Maxwell on the heaths near Wareham, Dorset and named after his daughter. Ht. 31-45cm. Spd. 75-100cm.


'Truro'

Large pale mauve (H2) flowers, Jul-Nov, with mid-green foliage. The original E. x watsonii was found near Truro but there is no proof that this cultivar is the same clone. Ht. 10-15cm. Spd. 31-45cm.
